U.S. military services, federal agencies and foreign military allies
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Augusta Systems, Inc., provider of technologies that power the intelligent convergence of devices,
systems and networks, has been selected as part of Northrop Grumman’s winning team for the U.S. Department of Defense’s
RFID III contract.
Under the contact, four prime contractors, including Northrop Grumman – to which Augusta Systems will serve as a
subcontractor -- are authorized to sell radio frequency identification (RFID)-related products and services to the U.S.
military, the U.S. Coast Guard, foreign military allies and other federal agencies. Augusta Systems will provide its
award-winning EdgeFrontier product and integration services to support the Northrop Grumman team efforts under
RFID III.
“RFID technology is playing a major role in logistics, asset tracking, monitoring and other military and government
applications,” said Patrick Esposito, president and chief operating officer of Augusta Systems, Inc. “The RFID III
contact enables Augusta Systems, as a subcontractor to Northrop Grumman, to provide technologies and services to the
Northrop Grumman team to support delivery of RFID solutions for military and federal agencies.”
RFID III is a $428-million, indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for active RFID hardware,
software and engineering services. The contract is administered by the U.S. Army’s Product Manager Joint-Automatic
Identification Technology (PM J-AIT) office and is open to purchase orders from other U.S. federal agencies and non-U.S.
defense forces.
“The RFID III contact provides a major opportunity for Augusta Systems and our products,” Esposito continued.
“We’re honored to be part of the winning Northrop Grumman team selected by the Department of Defense.”
