Features

SensorBridge operates through an extensive series of powerful components. The components enable data capture, data structure and correlation, and data distribution:

DATA CAPTURE

Network Data Acquisition Components
  • Utilize existing enterprise network infrastructure to receive data from edge assets asynchronously and synchronously from network devices (e.g., gateways, network appliances, servers, workstations, etc.)
  • Receive and automatically populate SensorBridge data structures via TCP and UDP communication protocols
  • Allow for automatic conversion of IPv4 data into IPv6 data and vice versa
Data Reader Components
  • Read data automatically from existing database tables in common formats (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Access, MySQL, etc.) to integrate into SensorBridge data structures
  • Read data automatically from existing data files in common formats (e.g., text, Excel, XML, binary, etc.) to integrate into SensorBridge data structures
Device and System Integration Components
  • Provide pre-built components to easily converge edge asset data (and functions in third-party SDKs and APIs) with options for integration via serial port, web services (HTTP and SOAP), managed calls, and unmanaged calls
  • Store wrapped functions in a separate assembly within memory allowing for fast in-memory invocation and eliminating the need for alias-like function calls between different edge asset instances
  • Support advanced function wrapping by allowing delegates and structures to be specified as parameters
DATA STRUCTURE AND CORRELATION

Data Structuring Components
  • Provide a robust data structuring system supporting protocol/format encoding, decoding, and conversion
  • Provide an in-memory data structure that can be inserted automatically into databases and data files, communicated to other devices, or displayed in common Microsoft Visual Studio controls
  • Allow for custom-built data structures, including the option to append custom data fields to incoming data
  • Automatically populate data structures based upon events (e.g., the population of other data structures, the execution of a command, etc.) by allowing the establishment of a relationship link between different data structures and components
  • Allow multiple data structures to be defined for a given edge asset to enable efficient management and flexible customization of data from sensors, actuators, and other edge systems and devices
  • Perform behind-the-scenes data type conversions during operations
  • Automate the process of defining how edge asset data is handled and managed within the application, and provide extensive methods that automatically convert raw data into a useable format
Event Capture and Filter Components
  • Allow user-defined event handlers to enable filtering, anomaly detection, or custom processing, including the insertion of advanced algorithms, to enable control systems, sensor networks, and applications to operate more efficiently
  • Allow the use of multiple conditional and comparison operations within events and filters operations based upon current and historical data
  • Allow the building of simple conditional expressions and advanced expressions
  • Support bitwise operational event conditions (And-ing, NAnd-ing, and Masking) and enable automatic conversion and comparison between binary, base 10, and hexadecimal data types
Data Fusion Components
  • Perform low-level data fusion on multiple component data structures
  • Allow portions of data structures from multiple sensors or other assets to be grouped into a single, unified data structure
  • Allow data sets, or partial data sets, to be merged based upon event subscriptions of various edge asset components
  • Allow merging of disparate data structures into a single, unified data structure, based upon matching key fields such as a timestamp or an identifying index
DATA DISTRIBUTION

Data Storage Components
  • Automatically create and populate database tables (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Access, MySQL, etc.) in real time with data from existing component data structures
  • Automatically create, populate, and append to common data files (e.g., text, Excel, XML, binary, etc.) in real time with data from existing component data structures
Network Data Transmission Components
  • Allow asynchronous and synchronous communication of edge asset and enterprise data between network devices (e.g., gateways, network appliances, servers, workstations, etc.)
  • Transmit SensorBridge data structures, data files, and messages via TCP and UDP communication protocols supporting both IPv4 and IPv6

SensorBridge components provide an extensive design-time environment and a customizable coding environment:

Extensive Design-Time Environment
  • Features drag-and-drop components used to streamline the process of developing and deploying diverse applications featuring edge asset data
  • Enables components to be cloned with a single click so that multiple instances of a component can be used simultaneously
  • Features single-click, single-entry properties utilizing drop-down lists, tree views, and text boxes
  • Allows easy recognition and single-click subscription to component events
Customizable Coding Environment
  • Allows for intuitive creation, modification, and event capturing of SensorBridge components
  • Utilizes IntelliSense capabilities to automatically complete typing and provide immediate property and method descriptions
  • Allows existing SensorBridge components to be programmatically cloned or serialized
  • Supports all Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 coding languages (VB.NET, C++, C#, and J#)
