Overview
Augusta Systems SensorPort is a reconfigurable network appliance that enables distributed, intelligent processing at the edge of the network. It provides enterprise network access to data from sensors, actuators, wireless sensor networks, RFID systems, imagery devices, and other edge assets.
SensorPort integrates data into enterprise networks, optimizes assets through distributed processing, and ensures a strong return on enterprise investments.
SensorPort enables easy set-up, management, and advanced development of wireless sensor networks, physical/IT security convergence, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, and network-centric systems. It provides an open, scalable infrastructure platform to optimize the use of edge assets within the network.
Enterprises can use SensorPort to:
- Enable plug-and-play edge asset connectivity
- Enable many-to-one connectivity (i.e., data from many edge assets to one SensorPort)
- Add intelligence to the network through distributed processing
- Provide real-time monitoring, event detection, and notification capabilities
- Convert non-IP data into IP data, as well as convert IPv4 to IPv6
- Distribute data as network data files (e.g., text, Excel, XML, binary, etc.) and populate common database tables (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Access, MySQL, etc.)
- Control switches, relays, and other actuators
